Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Nelson Rocks
A via ferrata is basically a bunch of ladder rungs hammered into a mountain. On this trip, we’re going to climb one. You get tremendous views, a nice workout, and best of all, anyone can do it, as long as you aren’t afraid of heights and can put one foot on top of the other.
The trip is contingent on good weather, drivers signing up, and having enough people so that we get the group discount. Also, with the weather getting nicer, it can be hard to get a reservation to climb in, so sign up early so I can get everything sorted. Last time we went, they gave us a discount off the $40 fee, but I’m not sure if this can be arranged again. You might think it’s expensive but trust me, the views are definitely worth it.
Bring some money so we can stop for food, snacks, water, and some non-slip shoes. No climbing in your Foxfield heels, please. Sandals won’t cut it either.
