Volunteer Gardening at Bog in Washington Park

OVERVIEW

The Cville Parks department would like our help in creating / maintaining a bog garden for education to elemantary school students, and for enjoyment for all. Come help out where there is a natural spring, a wooden boardwalk surrounding the garden, and quite a selection of plants that like to have “wet feet.” There is a variety of work, from cleaning out invasive species and trash from the woods above, to rogueing out some native plants that tend to self-seed and take over portions of the garden. The first project is to do some cleanup of vines, etc. in the woods above the area.

Cville Parks will provide tools, work gloves, snacks, and drinks.

You must bring:

Please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet / dirty / muddy. Boots would be best
