Volunteer Gardening at Bog in Washington Park

OVERVIEW

The Cville Parks department would like our help in creating / maintaining a bog garden for education to elemantary school students, and for enjoyment for all. Come help out where there is a natural spring, a wooden boardwalk surrounding the garden, and quite a selection of plants that like to have “wet feet.” There is a variety of work, from cleaning out invasive species and trash from the woods above, to rogueing out some native plants that tend to self-seed and take over portions of the garden.

Outdoors at UVa provides:

Cville Parks will provide tools, work gloves, snacks, and drinks.

You must bring:

Please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet / dirty / muddy. Boots would be best.
