I aspire to both 1.) get as many of you on trips as I possibly can and 2.) be as cool as our very own madam president Steph, so I’ll be taking as many of you poor folks who can’t seem to find the way off of a waitlist as I can up to humpback bright and early Thursday morning to catch a sunrise!
The leaves are turning, sunrise is relatively late rn which means more sleep than usual, etc etc.
Priority will be given based on both the number of times you’ve been waitlisted and the number of trips you have attended. i.e., somebody who’s been on 69 waitlists and no trips will probably get priority over somebody who’s been on 420 waitlists, but attended 83 trips. Make sense? Every one of you rays of sunshine deserves to see what odc is all about <333 Humpback is pretty short, but definitely no cakewalk. Its steep enough that it'll kick your ass no matter how good'e shape you're in, but the views and feeling of accomplishment you'll have at the top will always make it more than worth it. Plan: Leave Echols @ 6:30, start hiking around 7, sunrise and chill @ 7:33 for however long we want, and can be back sooner but will be back on grounds no later than 9. Let's do it!!!! bring: -sturdy shoes -extra layer or two for when we're not moving -dihydrogen monoxide -snacks/breakfast -jams (musical instruments?) no headlamps necessary DRIVERS NEEDED! -drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip! -drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
