Waitlist Relief Stony Man Sunset!

OVERVIEW

Picture this:

Its 3am. You’re rotting in the stacks of Clem, studying for the 4 midterms you have in the next 3 days. You realize you are wildly unprepared. You watch the girl across from you take a swig of her doubleshot gingerbread latte, momentarily forgetting her impending doom. The two of you share a look of desperation. Panic sets in. You look back down at the 7 tabs of notes and practice tests you have open on your computer. You click on Netflix and carry on with your night.

School is picking up, or maybe you’ve been on an infinite-loop of hell weeks since August, but either way it doesn’t have to be all bad. Thursday looks like it’s supposed to be a nice day and my lab got cancelled again, so let’s get out and get some fresh mountain air while taking in the beauty of Shenandoah’s ever so fleeting foliage!

We’ll be heading up to soak in some colorful views and catch the sunset at Stony Man, as it is no doubt one of my favorite sunset spots in SNP, and I’ll be prioritizing getting people who have been on few or no trips at all off of the waitlist. Priority will be given first to drivers, and then based on both the number of times you’ve been waitlisted and the number of trips you have attended. i.e., somebody who’s been on 69 waitlists and no trips will probably get priority over somebody who’s been on 420 waitlists, but attended 83 trips. Make sense? Every one of you rays of sunshine deserves to see what odc is all about <333 Deets: We'll meet and depart from Echols @ 3:00, drive to the Stony Man parking lot (~1hr 20min drive), hike ~3/4 of a mile to the summit and hangout and watch the sunset, then hike back down and drive back to Cville where we should be getting back right around 7. We'll be doing an abbreviated version of the first hike listed here: https://www.nps.gov/shen/stony-man.htm important: will cost $5 for parking if we don't get SNP passes You bring: -shenandoah park pass (if you have one) -sturdy hiking shoes -water + snacks -warm clothes to wear at the summit (it will probably be chilly!) -stories & jams DRIVERS NEEDED! -drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip! -drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
