OVERVIEW

Hello y’all! I recently heard through a friend that you can rappel a few waterfalls in Virginia! I’ve been itching to do some one-way rappelling since we got back from Moab and this is the closest we can get to canyoneering. We’re going to take the day to rappel as many of the white oak canyon waterfalls as we can, starting from the top and working our way down. A few important notes:
– the hike up the canyon is very steep and we will be trying to move fast so that we can rappel as much as possible
– you will get SOAKING WET. We will be rappelling IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WATERFALL.
– please only sign up if you have rappelled before. This is not the trip to learn as it will be slippery, more difficult to communicate over the sound of the water, and we might end up having to use rappelling devices other than an ATC/grigri
– I haven’t done this before so it might get a little interesting/type 2 fun. Just be aware that that’s a possibility.
Here’s a map of our route: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z3qM9QwrmSEozr5YJUt2m6vFEYw2scBh/view?usp=sharing
