OVERVIEW

Greetings weekly wanderers! ‘tis Loreley and Lizzie, taking Evelyn’s place this week since she has been swamped with work, just as we are about to be literally swamped with a 60% chance of rainfall thursday evening. We are availing ourselves of this opportunity to get a little fresh air, a little mud, and a little poetic expression into our systems. It is at last the moment you’ve been waiting for: a rainy day poetry hike!!! Come join us if you want to revel in the magic of a misty, rain-filled forest. Also come with us if you like mud since there will probably be a lot of that. You could even write your poem in it. Wouldn’t that be beautiful?

Bonus, you will come away with a poem to share at the FLUX/ODC collab bonfire on friday night!! FLUX is UVA’s only spoken word and poetry club that I happen to be a part of, and really like, and think you’ll really like too. You should come to this hike and ask me about it 👀Sharing your poem is, of course, not required, but even just coming to listen in on and support others would be greatly appreciated…and who knows, you might just be inspired to join in

⛈️the plan⛈️
5:15 meet in front of slaughter recreation center
5:20 wander around ohill trails, enjoy the rainy day, splash in puddles, find a semi-dry spot (or not) and write to our hearts’ content
6:45 return to slaughter with wetter socks and lighter hearts

extra: 7:30pm on friday share your lovely poems at the FLUX bonfire (optional of course, but we’d love if you did!)

we’ll bring:
– first aid kit bc the trails are slippery
– hype and joy and poem potential

you’ll bring:
– paper and something to write with (can be mud acquired on trip)
– clothes you’re ok with getting wet and muddy, don’t forget sturdy boots!
– hype and joy and poem potential

See you soon! text us with any questions
