The king of not-sending has returned!! (Hold your applause until the end please)
Let’s start the school year off by reminding ourselves of what really matters in life: putting ourselves in pseudo-death defying experiences. I hope you all are as stoked as I am. Here’s the plan:
Leave Charlottesville at 7am with a big raft and the electric pump to blow it up, plus some paddles, plus some life jackets. We get to summersville around 10:30-11 and start blowing that bad boy up like crazy. Ideally we’ll be at Whippoorwill or wherever else we want to do by noon and we can eat lunch on the raft while we try some cool stuff. The main idea is to find overhanging and climbable features so if we fall in we land in the water. I know some good spots for it but also am open to just exploring and seeing what spots are out there. we’ll mostly stick together since we’ll just have the one raft and make sure that at least one or two people are with the raft at all times, with the lifejackets as supplementary mini-rafts. we’ll head back home when it’s either dark or we’re tired, probably around 5 or 6 and get back to cville around 9.
You should bring:
Food
Water
Swimsuit or something like that
sunscreen (to share??)
Climbing shoes (if you want them to get wet)
Waterproof bag (?)
I will bring:
Big raft
Paddles
Life jackets
Insider knowledge of summersville
