Corner Of Echols Dorm
White Oak Canyon Trailhead, Chad Berry Lane, Syria, VA, USA
Knock, knock! Who’s there? Remarkably pleasant conditions for Virginia in mid-January! That means that I want to be outside, not in a classroom. I want to take advantage of the lovely cool weather, and this hike is a great way to do that. It is made up of a COMBO of the White Oak Canyon Trail and Cedar Run Trail, bringing it in at around 9 miles with a 2372 foot ascent. That’s right, this is the special, except instead of a burger, it’s foot pain(but the fun kind…). This trail/s gives us beautiful waterfalls, vistas, and generally good representations of the entire park. It is supposed to be rainy on Sunday, which I love, but be warned for those part of the anti-wet society.
Good news, I have a National Parks America is Beautiful Pass(#MilitaryBrat), so you don’t have to pay anything for park entry

Note: This is a decently long, challenging hike. Please have completed one intermediate hike before, as well as be comfortable with a moderate to fast hiking place. We will definitely take breaks, but just for time, want to maintain at minimum a 30 min/mile pace(give or take, based on ascending or descending)
