White Oak Canyon

OVERVIEW

It’s no longer syllabus week my friends, but rather than jumping right into all our readings & assignments, jump right into some quality swimming holes! Change your friday scenery; rather than frat darties, come experience the beauty of White Oak Canyon with a great hike & great waterfalls!

We will meet outside of Echols Dorm at 7:00 AM and will leave by 7:15 AM, which should put us in the hiking parking lot by 8:30 AM. Its about an 8 mile loop with an elevation gain of about 2,450 ft, and will take 4-5 hours plus an additional hour for swimming, sliding, and chowing! We will plan to get back to grounds by 4:00 PM, so do not fret, your friday night will still be free!

To bring:
-good sturdy shoes (water-friendly)
-water (2+ liters)
-packed lunch & snacks (we will picnic by a swimming hole)
-$5 fee (if people have Shenandoah passes this fee will not exist)
-swimsuit/change of clothes
-any other cool things/stories/music etc.

DRIVERS NEEDED
-I can only allow 4 people until drivers sign up!
-Drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
-Drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip!
