Whole Lotta Red River Gorge Rock Climbings

OVERVIEW

hey gamers,

A very original trip idea right here! (pause for laugh and applause) For real though, this will be the 3rd time in a row I’ve gone to the red around finals/graduation season. We’re gonna be doing some dope shit, it will be awesome and better than any beach week. We’ll be camping in a field the whole time so we’ll have to arrange tenting. Food will be sorted on an individual basis, but I plan to have a stove and cookware that we can share. The trip fee will be whatever the club doesn’t reimburse from lodging and gas (camping is $3.50 per night, and the drive is 400 miles each way, it shouldn’t be more than $50 per person even if they don’t reimburse any of it)

The plan:
Leave Charlottesville around the 10th, maybe earlier if people have availability for it.
Camp at Migs (Miguels, for you non locals) for about a week
Climb each day (likely 5.10 and higher grades), taking rest days every 2-3 days to hang out
Potential crags if you want to look them up on mtn project: Chocolate factory, motherlode, solarium, drive-by, the gallery, etc.
Leave by the morning of the 17th at the latest (I have to go home to graduate) but maybe earlier if people want to

You should bring:
Climbing helmet, harness, and shoes
Tent, sleeping bag & pad
Food that is easy to cook or money for food
Sunscreen, water bottle, headlamp
