Wicked Whitewater Workshop

OVERVIEW

Hey all you little fish!

If you, like me, are absolutely desperate to get out into some frothy whitewater, I have the trip for you! Unfortunately, no, we’re not actually going to be in the water this time BUT if you are interested at all in either leading or going on a whitewater trip in the (hopefully near) future, SIGN UP!!!

Me and Mitch are gonna be at the Shred Shack, aka shrack, (116 Washington Ave) with a sick powerpoint presentation and talk to y’all about the basics of whitewater (we’ll talk about SUPing, kayaking, and rafting) on Thursday afternoon at 5:00.

We’ll go over what exactly whitewater is, equipment, safety, local runs, how to read the water, what a trip will look like, basic skill level needed to lead a trip, different classes of whitewater, and answer any questions you may have!

We’re going to try to get as many people as possible to be able to get on this trip, but if we have more interest than expected we will lead a second workshop so that we can make sure everyone who’s interested will be able to come paddle! This trip is for ANYONE who is interested in trying out whitewater– whether you’re a seasoned whitewater pro or someone who has never been on a floating vessel before you should come to this trip.

We know that if you’re experienced in whitewater this may be a lot of review, but this way we can get to know all of you gnarly people and plan how to introduce all the newbies to this wonderful sport! We’ll also pull out some gear so everyone can see what it looks like and how to use it.

All you need for this trip is your wonderful self and a mask if you want one. We’ll be outside the whole time so masks aren’t necessary but feel free to wear one!
