OVERVIEW

HEY GUYS!

It’s me, ya girl, connoisseur of the tree climbing and void screaming, back with another accessible/hilarious/weird as heckcovidfriendlyadventure… and offering of french press coffee in the woods. And, a need to motivate myself to do things on our day off, and/or embrace the maximum amount of daylight hours our cold winters have to offer us so that I can actually do homework during the day. Ew.

SOME QUICK FACTS:
– Virginia has hella clay (there’s a reason why UVA is bricked up, we will likely talk about that bc knowledge is cool)
– The Ohill trails are AWESOME
– I have found a sizeable deposit on a said trail, and wish to share it with the masses (all six people on this trip) AND… to utilize an insignificant amount of it to do cool things (including but not limited to: pottery; clay-ball distance/accuracy throwing contest; getting rid of the tread on the bottom of my Hokas to see if I can slide any significant distance downhill… etc.)
– I am taking an intro to coding class and really enjoying not having to write in complete sentences (exhibit a: this trip description)

THE IDEA:
– We arise. We drag ourselves out of bed. We meet at the highest point of grounds. We acknowledge that for once in my life I checked the weather before-hand, and we semi-confidently embrace the 4% chance of rain and 40 degree air.
– We run/sprint/slide/walk/crawl/groove around the Ohill trails until we A) get to this awesome clay deposit or B) need a warm beverage.
– If A), we have coffee there. If B), we vibe and continue.

Depending on the group ~vibe~ trail running is definitely on the table, but this is NOT a trail-running-specific trip (aka I am simply ADHD as heck and prone to bursts of joyful nature sprinting; we will also be in the woods and no one is allowed to get lost, period).

YOU WILL NEED: some comfortable shoes, at least one bottle of water/a way to carry this water, a MASK PLEASE, a snacc (having a phenomenal gluteus maximus doesn’t count but mad props), appropriate clothing for slightly cool and wet conditions, your favorite weird fun fact, access to a shower post-trip, enthusiasm.

I WILL BRING: coffee/tea, coffee maker, my lil stove, 2 sleeping pads and a butt pad for us to sit on, some spoons, breathe right strips (for anyone uninterested in free altitude training aka masked working out), my phone, probably a plastic baggie or two, hand warmers maybe?

Ideally, we will all re-emerge from the woods after an hour or two of vibing, exploring, and clay-ing WITH:
– smiles on our faces
– joy in our hearts
– aAAAnd hands/clothes stained slightly orange by the SALT OF THE EARTH (Virginia clay baby!)

See you all soon and HAPPY LOVE APPRECIATION DAY 🙂
– Catie
