Wintergreen Resort
Wintergreen Resort
‘Cause there are still several folks who want to get in on the Wintergreen season pass deal, I’ve extended the sign up deadline to December 5th at 5pm. I submitted the first round of folks to Wintergreen this morning, which means their passes will be ready soon. I’ll submit a second list on December 9th, which means I need to receive your info by the 8th, which means you need to get it in the mail by the 6th. I’ll perch myself outside of Little John’s from 12-12:15 on 12/6 for anyone who wants to hand deliver their money to me. Remember: its $145, and goes up to $189 after 12/1. Please let any of your friends know that might be interested. If you already signed up for this adventure, you do not need to sign up again (even if you are on the waitlist). Read below for more details/instructions.
Its that time of year again folks! Winter is just around the corner, and our near by resort, Wintergreen, is planning to open on November 26th. Last year they stayed open well into March with many of their slopes runnable. Those of you who have done this before know about the great deal you get by purchasing a season pass. This year the regular lift ticket season pass rate after Dec. 1 is $189. Until Dec. 1 they’re going for $169. For a group of 20-50 the discounted price is $155, for 50+ it will be $145. Not too shabby considering the cost of a weekend lift ticket (day pass) is $56. So with a season pass you can make up your money after just 3 trips. If you want to get into the sport and don’t have gear, you can also get a season rental pass for $139 which allows you to get a snowboard, skis, or ski blades (plus associated gear) every time you go. I might be able to get a group rate on these if there is enough interest. Also, with a season lift pass to Wintergreen you get a 50% discount for lift tickets at various mountains in the northeast.

So here is how this will work: You sign up for the adventure and your name gets placed on the waitlist. Once you’ve paid the fee, you get put on the trip list and can go to Wintergreen to get your pass (I’ll send out an email when they are ready). You can send your money, payable to me “David Clark” (hoooh-haaah, evil laughter) at 3595 Presidents Road, Scottsville, VA 24590″ for $145. I’m going to assume we’ll get over 50 since we easily did that last year. GET YOU FRIENDS INTERESTED! THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE CLUB MEMBERS TO GET IN ON THIS! But they do have to be members to go on the club trips to wintergreen. Please ACT NOW as the deadline for me to get the info to wintergreen is Dec 9th. If you have a friend that wants to get involved, just indicate in the set of questions after you join, where you can include their contact info.
If you do not have a car, do not fret. There are plenty of club trips up to the mountain. I usually head up there 1-2 times per week, usually mid-week and Sunday, often at night. Please note that the Wintergreen season pass is not valid on Saturdays during regular season (mid-December to mid-March) or holidays.
Once your pass is ready for pick up you can go to Wintergreen and get it at the group sales office at your convenience (the place isn’t that big, the group sales office is easy to find). Its best to go early in the season and/or mid-day to beat the lines.
