Wintergreen Resort
Wintergreen Resort
Its that time of year again folks! Winter is just around the corner, and our near by resort, Wintergreen, is planning to open at the end of November. Last year they stayed open well into March with many of their slopes runnable. Those of you who have done this before know about the great deal you get by purchasing a season pass. This year the regular lift ticket season pass rate after Dec. 15 is $229. Until Dec. 1 they’re going for $199. The group discounted rate this year is $179, for groups of at least 75. Not too shabby considering the cost of a weekend lift ticket (day pass) is $61 and a night pass is $33. So with a season pass you can make up your money after just 3 trips. If you want to get into the sport and don’t have gear, you can also get a season rental pass for $159 which allows you to get a snowboard, skis, or ski blades (plus associated gear) every time you go (you have to buy this directly from Wintergreen). Also, with a season lift pass to Wintergreen you get a 50% discount for lift tickets at various mountains in the northeast.

So here is how this will work: You sign up for the adventure and your name gets placed on the waitlist. Once you’ve paid the fee, you get put on the trip list and can go to Wintergreen to get your pass (I’ll send out an email when they are ready). You can send your money, payable to me “David Clark” (hoooh-haaah,
If you do not have a car, do not fret. There are plenty of club trips up to the mountain. I usually head up there 1-2 times per week, usually mid-week and Sunday, often at night. Please note that the Wintergreen season pass is not valid on Saturdays during regular season (mid-December to mid-March) or holidays.
Once your pass is ready for pick up you can go to Wintergreen and get it at the group sales office at your convenience (the place isn’t that big, the group sales office is easy to find). Its best to go early in the season and/or mid-day to beat the lines.
