OVERVIEW

Western North Carolina has some sick runs! We’re going to head on down and hit some of them. From the 25 foot slide/drop called Breakbone falls on the west fork of the Tuck to the 12 foot bear creek falls on the Cheoah, it’s going to be awesome.

We’re going to head down there and hit these runs and maybe some more, we’ll see how things work out. Planning to bring some mountain bikes as well for shuttle if I can’t find any of my friends to do shuttle with us (also some sick night rides after paddling all day?).

Because we’re going to be doing class IV runs including some that I haven’t done yet, this will be an advanced trip, requiring experience paddling class IV like the New at decent flows or the James at high water. This trip requires experience paddling some pretty serious stuff, swims on the rivers we’ll be paddling will be very dangerous.

Schedule is pretty up in the air but we’ll be leaving around 3:30pm Friday and getting back late Sunday night. Camping both nights somewhere potentially sketchy, we’ll see. It’ll be a pretty classic real kayaking trip. Cheoah will cost $5 for the forest service entry permit, it’s worth it.

Bring your kayaking stuff, camping stuff, food. We can hit the locker beforehand.

Disclaimer: This is a dangerous activity. You could get hurt. I will try and help keep you safe but be smart. Let me know if you have any questions (8049441929).
