Mt Rainier National Park, Washington, USA
HOWDY GREMLINS,
In case you’ve heard rumblings, I have big plans in the ~month between graduation and starting work, and YOU can come along. I plan to hike the Wonderland Trail in Mt. Rainier National Park over 7 days. The Wonderland Trail is a 93-mile loop that goes around Mount Rainier, also known as Tahoma. There will be about 2000-3000+ feet of elevation gain/loss daily, it will be TOUGH and we will do several shakeout backpacking trips in the months leading up. Signing up for this trip is NOT a commitment. I am gauging interest and plan to do much more planning with our proposed group.
These exact dates and points are subject to change with the group, but my plan is to do ~10-13 mile days.
Day 0: fly out and probably camp somewhere, maybe stay in a hostel
Day 1: White River to Mystic Camp (~10-12 miles).
Day 2: Mystic Camp to South Mowich River (via Spray Park) (~10-12 miles)
Day 3: South Mowich River to Klapatche Park (~8-10 miles)
Day 4: Klapatche Park to Pyramid Creek (~10-12 miles)
Day 5: Pyramid Creek to Nickel Creek (~10-12 miles)
Day 6: Nickel Creek to Indian Bar (or beyond).
Day 7: Indian Bar (or chosen spot) back towards White River or finish at Longmire, camp somewhere or stay in a hostel
Day 8: Fly back
