Ohill trails
HEYYYYY peeps,
I have been thoroughly enjoying mountain biking lately and I have only one class on friday so it’s one of my fav days to bike and a great way to start off the weekend (the weekend of ODC’s first formal nonetheless).
I was planning on doing a short bike ride on O-hill, at least 5 miles but I’m open to doing more. I have a general idea of a route that is about 5 miles, but I am down to switch it up and do different trails/different mileage. After 5 ish miles we’ll see how everyone is feeling and either head home or keep going until we’re ready to tap out, which would probably be around 10 miles for me.
AKA this will be a really chill, but definitely intermediate trip. We will do a bunch of the blue/black trails on O-hill and probably some of the Rivanna trail.
There will be some strenuous uphills and steeper downhills both with technical features, which of course can always be walked if necessary, but you should be at least somewhat comfortable with these types of terrain for this trip and have ridden a mountain bike a few times. If you are unsure of your ability but are interested in coming on the trip, just let me know in the questions or email me at jma9x@virginia.edu! We can also go at whatever pace is working for the group and take plenty of breaks!
And, since mountain biking is such a male dominated sport, both in our club and in general, I wanted to have this be an affinity trip for our women, trans and non binary members! Sometimes joining a trip that is all (or mostly) men is very intimidating, so if you have ever felt that way about a biking trip come join me on friday woop!

Weather appropriate clothes– you will get hot !
Closed toed shoes!

12:00 Meet at Shred Shack Garage AKA 116 Washington Ave
12:15 Bike over to ohill after we situate our bikes
12:30- 2 ish? (this is very loose) bike around!!!
2:30 ish get back to shrack and put away bikes
(Like i said this is a loose plan and can be as long or as short as we want!!)
