OVERVIEW

Learning how to roll your kayak upright after capsizing is essential for progressing beyond the intermediate level in the sport. We’ll spend Thursday evening going over the roll technique then everyone will get the chance to practice it several times. When you are not rolling you’ll have the chance to practice paddling.

If you’ve never paddled a white water kayak I will go over the basics with you. I expect the water to be close to air temperature so it should feel chilly at first but easy to get used to.

I will meet you all at Echols but will not return with you so will need at least one driver for this. Everyone who signs up will get placed on the waitlist. I will move the first driver to sign up to the trip list and then add attendees in the order they signed up.

You should bring: swimwear, warm non-cotton layers to go over your swimsuit, change of clothes, towel, sunscreen, water, snacks.

The Club provides: Boats, spray skirts, pfds, paddles, helmets
