Yummy Yummy Humpback: Anotha One

OVERVIEW

The weather this weeks is just simply delicious. It would be criminal not to capitalize on it! Join me for a sunrise expedition to Humpback this Thursday.

If you’ve never done it…. it’s about a mile each way with 800 ft of elevation gain. Sunrise is at 7:10, but you want to be there about 30-40 minutes before that to see the full transition from dark to light! We will leave from Echols around 5:15am, start hiking by 5:50am, arrive at the summit around 6:30am, and then bundle up and wait for the glory of sunrise to come! It’s supposed to be sunny and clear that morning. We will be back to Cville around 8:45 or 9:00am at the latest.

You bring:
Good walking shoes
LAYERS (it will likely be chilly at the top)… better to have too many that not enough
Water (1.5 to 100 liters…. can never be too hydrated!)
Snacks (if ya feel)
Blanket / sleeping bag / warmth provider (can be another human)
Head lamp (can be acquired at a gear room) if you can get one

I provide:
A speaker to soothe our cold ears with mellow, sunny tunes
Transportation

I can take ~8 people in the back of my van, though if more sign up we can have a second car & I’ll give wait list priority to a driver in that case.
