Endless 5K Event
Hey ODC!! Are you bored of the same old cookie‑cutter 5Ks where you show up, run for 20 minutes, grab a banana, and go home? SAME. That’s why I am excited to share a new and unhinged event coming to an O’Hill trail near you on March 21st.
The Endless 5K event is a backyard ultramarathon in which participants start a 5K lap every hour on the hour. If you finish before the next lap starts, you can rest until the top of the next hour, when you have to be back at the starting line. The race ends when only one person remains. There are no winners and only one finisher. How long can you last? One lap? Five? Ten? Until the sun comes up? There’s only one way to find out. Take on the ultimate endurance challenge and make UVA history at the first annual Endless 5k.

The event is hosted by the Residential College Committee to raise funds for PHAR, a local organization that advocates for affordable and stable public housing in Charlottesville.
Not into running? No worries! There will also be a CIO Fair, food trucks, music, and a great vibe to hang out with friends.

GEAR RESOURCES AND POLICY
This Week’s Gear Room Schedule:
Monday – Parker 5 pm
Tuesday – Chris 9 am
Wednesday – TBD, likely 5 pm
Thursday- Skylar 3 pm
Friday – Max 2:15 pm
If none of these times work for you, please email the officers outdoors-officers@virginia.edu at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a separate time to be let into the gear room. Please only do this if you really can’t make the gear room times, not just because you don’t feel like it or didn’t plan ahead.
You can stop by the gear room to check out or return gear and be reimbursed at any of the times listed above! Officers remain at the gear room only for as long as people are checking in/out gear (usually about 20-25 minutes). You may also purchase ODC t-shirts, hoo rags, patches, stickers, and more at the gear room!
