ODC Gear Room and Other Bits and Pieces 1-26-26

Heellllllooooo Snow Gremlins,

Much has been done, little has been tangibly accomplished in this snow. Felt like I walked a million miles but really didn’t. Felt like I was sledding at 18 m/s but was probably more like 2 m/s. Snow is mega lit though. (AND APPARENTLY WE’RE GETTING MORE??)

Scroll down to see the delightful things these announcements have in store for you 🙂 Also, some random snow thoughts:

  • What is the best form of transportation for this icy layer of snow? Perhaps skates? Unsure.
  • The little balls of ice were super cool.
  • Cold
  • Cold
  • The coefficient of kinetic friction ain’t bad on this snow.
  • That road salt really did not work huh
  • Thank you Jennifer for cancelling school early

Evan Denison Backpacking Scholarship

It may be snowy out, but spring is around the corner and we are honoring the memory of Evan Denison, a past club member who unexpectedly passed away in 2023. He was an avid hiker, often barefoot, and loved getting people outside.

We have a backpacking scholarship where you can request gear to help make back packing more accessible and get people outside. Fill out this form if you are interested in honoring the life of Evan by getting your feet dirty and walking in the woods!
