Hello! Summer gear info below:
Over the summer, ODC discontinues regular gear room hours. Summer gear rooms are scheduled on a case-by-case basis depending on when/if officers are in Cville. If we are or are planning to be in town, we are more than happy to coordinate with you! You can coordinate a gear room by emailing us at outdoors-officers@virginia.edu or via ODC’s groupme (link below if you’re not in it already).
IF YOU HAVE GEAR CHECKED OUT/OVERDUE GEAR, YOU NEED TO RETURN IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE. Check every nook and cranny of your room, bags, and cars for gear. You must return any missing gear even if you don’t realize you still have it (check your email for overdue gear emails).
If you want to check out gear for an extended time during the summer, we are happy to help out. Our policy for these extended checkouts is that the gear will be returned in as good or better condition (at the member’s expense) than when it was checked out. Please email the officers to request an extended gear checkout.
If you are currently in possession of gear, you must coordinate with us to return it. If we are unable to coordinate a good time to collect your gear at the gear room or otherwise before the fall semester we ask that you hang on to it and store it in a proper manner until regularly scheduled gear rooms resume.
